Laptop Check

Check browser readiness, connection and display before remote work or a video interview. Follow up with camera, microphone and keyboard tests.

Quick laptop readiness check

This is a browser readiness check, not a hardware diagnostic. It does not scan your files or inspect your operating system.

How to use this tool

  1. Run the readiness check with the browser you plan to use.
  2. Read individual findings rather than relying only on the score.
  3. Open the separate webcam, microphone and speaker tools to test your actual call setup.

What the results mean

The score is a convenience summary of browser-visible checks. It cannot certify battery health, SSD condition, temperatures, malware status or overall hardware health. Unsupported browser APIs may lower the score on a perfectly usable laptop.

Common problems

If one item fails, test it separately. A denied media permission differs from a missing device. Network restrictions can prevent a request even when the laptop is connected. Verify important tasks in the actual app before relying on the machine.

Privacy and data use

The check reads browser information and makes small network requests. If you choose media checks, permission is requested and streams are stopped after the check. It does not scan your files.

Frequently asked question

Can this tell me whether a used laptop is safe to buy?

Only partly. It helps inspect browser-visible functions. You still need physical inspection, battery and storage checks using system tools, and confirmation of ownership and account locks.
