Use the equipment you will use on the day
Connect the intended headset, camera, power supply and network. Run the Laptop Check for browser-visible readiness. Read individual findings instead of treating the summary score as proof of hardware health.
Check framing and input
Run the Webcam Test and Microphone Test. Put the camera near eye level and light your face from the front. Speak at your normal volume and check that the meter reacts. It does not judge the intelligibility of your speech.
Test the meeting app itself
Open the link or app you have been invited to use and check its preview and device selections. Browser permissions and app permissions can differ. Stop the separate camera test before joining. Use a playback test in the meeting app if offered, and confirm speaker output at a comfortable volume.
Check stability, not just headline speed
Run the Jitter Test and pause large transfers. Prefer the connection that has been reliable in your actual location. A test to this website’s edge is useful evidence but cannot guarantee the meeting provider’s route will behave identically.
Prepare for an interruption
Plug in the charger, silence unrelated notifications and keep the meeting link and contact details accessible. Have a charged phone or another approved way to reconnect. Join early enough to repeat the app preview. Close confidential windows before screen sharing; readiness testing does not inspect them for you.
