How to use this tool
- Connect your headset before starting the test.
- Press Start microphone, allow access and speak at your normal call volume.
- Watch for movement in the meter, then press Stop.
What the results mean
Movement indicates that the selected microphone is producing a signal. The percentage is a relative visual level, not a calibrated decibel reading. Background noise can move the meter too; this test does not prove speech is clear.
Common problems
If the meter stays still, check the headset mute switch, system input volume and selected input device. Bluetooth headphones may use a different microphone in call mode. Reconnect the headset and restart the test.

Audio is analysed in memory in this browser. The test does not record, play back or upload your voice.

Why does the meter move when I am silent?
Fans, room noise and microphone gain can produce a signal. Try a quieter room and compare the level while speaking. Use your meeting app’s playback test to judge clarity.
