Privacy Policy

MyLaptopTools is designed to minimise the amount of information its tools need. This site does not require an account.

Local browser processing

Tools such as the webcam test, microphone test, keyboard test, password generator, password strength checker, word counter, image compressor, Video to GIF Converter, PDF merger and PDF compressor perform their core processing in your browser. MyLaptopTools does not intentionally upload the content, passwords, images, videos or PDF files used in these tools to its servers. The PDF tools load pinned PDF-processing libraries from third-party content delivery networks, but your document bytes are processed locally in the browser.

Network requests

Normal website use requires network requests to deliver pages and assets. Hosting and security providers may process standard connection data such as IP addresses and request metadata as part of operating the website.

The Internet Speed Test transfers test data between your browser and MyLaptopTools. Download testing uses random binary test data. Upload testing sends temporary random bytes generated in your browser; this synthetic payload is read only to measure transfer performance and is discarded immediately rather than stored as a user file.

The Public IP & Network Checker and VPN & IP Check use Cloudflare connection information already associated with your visit to show the public IP address and approximate network details visible to this website. The Website Down Checker sends the public website address you enter to the MyLaptopTools Worker so it can attempt a server-side reachability check; page content is not intentionally stored. The WebRTC Leak Test uses Google’s public STUN service to request WebRTC network candidates, which means that STUN service can see the IP address used for that request.

Camera and microphone

Camera and microphone tools ask for browser permission. Media is used locally for the requested test. These tools do not intentionally record or upload the media stream to MyLaptopTools.

Analytics, cookies, advertising and sponsored content

This version does not load Google advertising or analytics scripts. A Google publisher verification tag does not itself send advertising requests or set cookies. Hosting and security providers may still process connection metadata. If advertising is enabled later, this policy and the applicable consent choices must reflect that change. See the Cookies page for browser storage details.

Sponsored or affiliate relationships do not change the result produced by a tool. Commercial placements will be identified so visitors can distinguish them from editorial content.

Messages you send us

Email links open your chosen mail application. If you send a message, your email provider and the receiving mailbox process your address and message content. Include only what is needed to answer your question; do not attach sensitive files or passwords. Contact us if you want to ask about a message you previously sent.

DNS resolver probe

The DNS Leak Test requests resolver information from edns.upset.dev, a third-party CORS-enabled resolver probe. That service receives the network information needed to identify the DNS resolver. MyLaptopTools does not store the resolver result.

Local file processing

PDF and image conversion tools process selected files locally in the browser. Some tools load open-source JavaScript libraries from public CDNs, but your selected files are not intentionally uploaded to those CDNs or to MyLaptopTools.

Resolver and website checks

The DNS leak test contacts edns.upset.dev and, if needed, a random subdomain of edns.ip-api.com. These third-party probes receive connection metadata. DNS Lookup sends the entered domain to our Worker and Cloudflare DNS over HTTPS. Website checks send the entered address to our Worker and contact the target website; SSL information may also come from crt.sh.

Sharing a result

Copy and Share buttons include only the displayed measurements selected for that tool and a MyLaptopTools page link. Network IP addresses, camera images, microphone audio, filenames and typed content are excluded. Nothing is published automatically. Your browser or chosen share destination handles anything you explicitly share.
