Keyboard Test
Check common keyboard keys and browser key codes. Find unresponsive keys, test combinations and understand shortcuts the browser cannot capture.
Interactive keyboard tester
How to use this tool
- Start the tester and press each key you want to check.
- Watch the key highlight and the last-key label.
- Stop the tester before entering text elsewhere on the page.
What the results mean
A highlight confirms the browser received that key event. The diagram follows common key positions and may differ from your keyboard layout. Operating-system shortcuts, media keys and some Fn combinations may never reach a webpage.
Common problems
Try a problematic key alone and in a combination. Compare another USB port or keyboard. If the key works outside the browser, check extensions and app shortcuts before assuming a physical fault.
Privacy and data use
Key events are handled in this page and are not uploaded. Do not type passwords or other private text during a test.
Frequently asked question
Does this test every key on every keyboard?
No. The last-key label can show events beyond the diagram, but the operating system may reserve certain combinations and Fn keys. An absent highlight is not always a broken key.
