How to use this tool
- Use a physical mouse and keep this tab visible.
- Press Start and move continuously in circles inside the test area for three seconds.
- Repeat a few times using the same port and mouse settings.
What the results mean
Average Hz describes movement events observed over the captured interval. Coalesced events are used when supported. Peak is the highest populated 250 ms window; it is not proof of USB polling rate. Too little movement produces an insufficient-samples message instead of a hardware guess.
Common problems
A low reading can come from slow movement, event batching, browser load or power saving. Check the rate set in your mouse software and compare a direct USB connection. Browser measurements cannot certify a 1000 Hz or 8000 Hz hardware setting.
Privacy and data use
Only event timestamps are used locally. Shared results contain the selected numeric readings and page link, not cursor positions or device identifiers.

Why does my 1000 Hz mouse show a lower number?
The browser sees processed input, not the USB bus. Event delivery, system load and your movement can lower the estimate. A low browser reading alone does not show that the mouse is faulty.
