Convert video to GIF

MP4 and WebM work in most modern browsers. Other formats depend on your browser's codec support.
For best results, keep GIFs short. This converter limits clips to 15 seconds to protect browser memory.

How to convert a video to GIF

Select a video from your device, choose the start and end time, pick a width and frame rate, then press Convert to GIF. The browser captures frames from your selected clip and creates a looping GIF file.

Which settings should I use?

480 px at 10 FPS is a good starting point for reaction clips, tutorials and social posts. If the GIF is too large, try 320 px or 5–8 FPS. If motion looks too choppy, increase the frame rate.

Why is a GIF much larger than the original video?

Modern video codecs compress motion very efficiently. GIF does not. A few seconds of video can therefore become a relatively large GIF, especially at high resolution or frame rate.

Does this tool remove audio?

Yes. GIF is an image format and cannot contain audio. Only the visual frames from the selected clip are converted.
