Two address systems

IPv4 uses familiar dotted addresses such as 192.0.2.1, while IPv6 uses a much larger hexadecimal address space. Modern networks often support both at the same time.

Check the connection you are actually using

The IPv6 Checker shows whether your current connection to MyLaptopTools arrived over IPv6 or IPv4. The Public IP Checker adds network and location context.

Why VPN users should care

If normal traffic uses a VPN but IPv6 takes a different path, an IPv6 address can reveal another network route. Pair the IPv6 check with the DNS Leak Test and WebRTC Leak Test.

IPv6 is not a problem by itself

IPv6 is a normal modern internet protocol, not a privacy flaw. The important question is whether every network path follows the security configuration you expect.
