Ratio describes shape, not resolution
1920×1080 and 1280×720 are different resolutions but share the same 16:9 aspect ratio. The ratio tells you the proportional relationship between width and height.
Calculate any ratio
Enter dimensions in the Aspect Ratio Calculator to simplify them and calculate a matching new height for any width.
Common shapes
16:9 is common for landscape video, 9:16 for vertical video, 1:1 for square images and 4:3 for some displays and cameras.
Resize without distortion
Use the calculated matching dimensions in the Image Resizer. Keeping the ratio prevents faces, circles and logos from stretching.
